Personal: New Orleans Visit
Greetings! I know it’s been a little bit since I last wrote but I promise it’s all for good reasons.
We’ve been very busy over here these last few months shooting amazing weddings and love stories. It’s also been a little nutty on the home front with a home reno and move last week.
I’m excited to start sharing some of the incredible weddings and other celebrations I’ve had the pleasure to document.
To start, I was lucky enough to get invited to shoot a VERY special 50th wedding anniversary in New Orleans this past June.
It was my first time visiting NOLA and I immediately fell in love.
The only thing I really knew about the city was Bourbon Street and Mardi Gras which to me translates to boobs and booze. Honestly, I wasn't really sure what to expect when we got there. I had heard so many crazy party stories and was a little turned off.
From the moment we arrived I knew I was in trouble. Four days was not nearly enough time to spend in this charming city. I brought one roll of 35mm film and only shot 16 images because I was so smitten I didn't want to miss a beat. So instead of shooting, I chose to soak it all in.
The architecture was some of the best I have seen in all the places I have visited. The people were charming and the food and music was incredible. I could easily spend an entire month there exploring the streets and culture. I seriously can’t wait to go back.
Here are a few frames from the trip last month.
If you or anyone you know wants to get married in New Orleans, pass along my name. I’ll offer great incentives to take me along!
Enjoy!
